Odessa State A.V.Nezhdanova Academy of Music

Odessa State A.V.Nezhdanova Academy of Music is the oldest music educational institution of Ukraine founded in 1913. During the years of its existence more than 8 thousand prominent musicians and music performers among them such as: E.Gilels, B.Rudenko, D.Oystrakh, K.Dankevich, E.Chavdar, Y.Zak, N.Ogrenitch and many others graduated from the Odessa conservatoire.

Since 1956 (at that time Ukraine was a part of the Soviet Union (USSR) musicians from 28 countries of Europe, Asia, Africa and America have been trained at the Odessa conservatory (the former name of the Odessa State A.V.Nezhdanova Academy of Music).

Now a contract system of training foreign citizens has been introduced. The costs of paying for the education at the preparatory faculty to get the language acquistion are (including consultations according to a certain speciality) - $ 1500 USD per academic year; at the basic faculty for all specialities - $ 2000 USD (including staying at student dormitory) per each year of training (an overall curriculum is 5 years due to which one can afford the qualification of a "Master of Arts" degree and enter the assistant-training course as well as the postgraduate courses in specialities: academic singing, folk instruments, piano, musicology - $ 3000 USD (dormitory included) per each year of training (its period lasts 3 years), training in all specialities - $ 300 USD per each month of training.

Studies begin in September and are over in July.

Training may begin at any month, excluding summer vacations

Instrumental performing:

• piano
• organ
• orchestra instruments (string,
  wind and percussion) and folk instruments
• academic singing
• opera-symphonic conducting
• choral conducting
• compositions
• musicology

All travel costs and expenses for stay in Ukraine are paid by students

The following documents concerning the question of enrollment for studies are to be submitted to the administration of the Academy, the last date coming up to 01.05 yearly.

• An audio tape with a record of a performance
• A copy of a certificate about complete school or current college or university (if available) education with an appendix of covered subjects and received marks
• A copy of oversea passport (1st page)
  
  

After submitted documents submitted are examined, an official explanatory invitation for coming to Ukraine will be sent to the candidate.
